Heya folks! Been what feels like forever since I have published anything.
I have begun a novel that I've been sort of thinking up over the last couple years. My first book in the series was completed a few years ago and have been outlining the plots and twists of the next two books, with the intention of making it into a trilogy.
However, the first book ends in such a way that it can quite literally take any direction with the start of the second book, and thus the newest novel I have started is sort of a alternate ending type of a novel inserted into the trilogy which I know no longer makes it such.
That said, the first novel follows the life of a young elf who when in his formative years gets adopted by the leader of the most prestigious assassin guild in the entire Western Kingdoms, roughly 1/3rd of the continent. I shouldn't say adopted because that's not accurate, but that will suffice as I'd have to basically re-write (or publish) the chapter here when you can just read it later. Throughout the novel he battles with his native good and his inherited evil.
He had become one of the most feared among the underworld by the time the novel begins. And the way it ends... Well, let's just say, he ends up taking a detour into modern times. I've always thought it'd be fun to throw in a sort of intermission that was not quite as dark as the first novel, or where the second planned novel would end up. So there he is in a little town on the west coast, in modern times, with modern technology and, due to circumstances explained in the writing, falls under scrutiny by certain alphabet agencies.
This second detour-installment has been quite fun thus far. It's like, instead of a spy novel of the fantasy era/genre, we take a highly trained assassin from that time and put him in modern times where he has to overcome his lack of knowledge of the modern world and overcome all of the obstacles presented while attempting to figure out how he can get back, as the first novel ends in a cliff-hanger.
So yes, that's where I am at right now.
It looks like I will also be doing some traveling on the west coast which I will turn into an opportunity and hopefully some of my adventure will end up in the book.
As for photography, I'll do it whenever it presents itself. Right now I am torn between ditching my camera gear and going into more of a travel gear set-up OR ....... getting video as that new GoPro 4 looks fantastic. Any opinions?
