New Bodypaint - Dimeatra - NSFW

November 22, 2013  •  4 Comments

Hiya!

Guess what I did a few days ago?

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I got to be part of an awesome body paint experience. And it was even filmed.

At the end of the post here is a roughly 5 minute video. Let me say first, I apologize for the shakiness of some of the footage. I didn't have an idea about how I wanted the film footage to come out as I was preoccupied with how I wanted my photographic lighting to be.

And because the paint process took just over 4 hours, I was forced to condense the footage by doing two things: cutting out footage and speeding up the film so that everyone is in hyperdrive - INCLUDING the dude with the f*cking camera. Oh well, we learn.

It's still educational and might be of some interest to you if you are curious about what it is like behind the scenes on such a photographic endeavor. And yes, we paint everyday people.

Enjoy.

cool, thanks for the response. What was the shoot for?

I've done some body paint work, but just the top half and mostly glamour type stuff. I did it on a tf basis though, and I was wondering how much this model got for her work?

Whose vision was it? Was it all your creation? I'm fascinated by the detail!

Hi Jen!

Well not all bodypaints are created equal. This one was very detailed. It was roughly 4-4.5 hours long but this included not just bodypaint but make-up. The hair was another 2-3 hours I believe and happened off set. So depending on how detailed the work is it could be a few hours. But here's the thing, you don't have to stand for 4 hours straight. We take breaks, have food, drinks, bathroom, whatever is needed to be as comfortable as possible. And then there are parts of it, like make-up where you can sit.

The key to this endurance is eating a good breakfaast, keeping hydrated, not locking the legs and taking breaks when needed. We put towels over the wool throw rug as well so that helps to cushion the joints.

=) Justin

This is pretty cool! How much does a model make for this sort of work? How long do you have to stand for??
